Sarah and Hilary are busy organising this exciting event which SOS are hosting on Saturday 16th March 2019 at Peartree Church Hall in Woolston.

For those who have never been in a “scratch/come and sing” performance before this is how we are planning for it to work:

  • All SOS members past and present with families and friends to come and enjoy this occasion and to help promote among your contacts.
  • Other performing societies and groups including churches, youth choirs, etc. in fact any one is very welcome and will be invited to participate.
  • We are hoping to cast the principals from SOS and other groups to make it more inclusive and wide spread to encourage inter society “harmony (!)”. So we are going to invite other groups to make suggestions for principal parts and together with Martin Paterson and Paul Spanton a decision will be made. There will be narrators filling in the bits in between – so no lengthy libretto.
  • Everyone else will be in the chorus and have great fun in their voice parts.
  • We hope that everyone will join in the occasion and wear suitable bits of costume (hats) and enter into the spirit of it.
  • If you don’t want to sing (but we hope everyone will) you can still come along to watch and listen as audience and have a great evening.
  • Pizzas will be ordered and provided for the supper interval along with ice creams…..and you can bring whatever you like to drink.
  • Extra scores are being hired for those who can't provide or source their own.

Don’t worry if you don’t know it, there is going to be a sing through beforehand on Wednesday 6th February 2019.

For all this fun it will only cost £14.00 per person – what a great way to spend the evening – meeting up and welcoming other local singers. Let’s scratch that G&S itch.
